MAJOR CONCRETE WORK UNDER WAY
Falsework beams now span lanes of the southbound I-405 freeway, and crews are pouring the stems, soffits and deck, section by section, of the new Seal Beach Boulevard bridge.
The soffit is the underside of the bridge (the part drivers see overhead when driving under a bridge); the stem is the center part of the bridge, and the bridge deck is the roadway surface motorists drive on.
Last week, traffic was shifted onto the newly paved outside lanes of the northbound and southbound I-405 freeway to make room in the center of the freeway for the new SR-22 / I-405 carpool connector.
This week there will be nightly full closures along portions of the westbound SR-22, northbound and southbound I-405 freeways.
For more detailed information about closure times and recommended detour routes, visit www.octa.net/WCCDetourMap.
CAREGIVERS MUST REGISTER
Leisure World members who need the assistance, part-time or full-time, of a caregiver in their apartments must register in a simple process at the Stock Transfer Office every six months.
After registering, caregivers are issued a numbered entrance pass good for six months and a badge holder that indicates whether they are part-time or full-time. Caregivers are required to wear the badge at all times while in the community, including entering through any security gate, at the Leisure World Health Care Center and all facilities and clubhouses, walking in the community and most importantly, while doing laundry in the mutual laundry rooms.
