The New York Club and the Los Alamitos Senior Club will visit the historic Adamson House and Malibu Lagoon Museum on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
The Adamson House boasts an exotic mix of Spanish and Moorish influences with displays of decorative tiles and one-of-a-kind craftsmanship, including hand-carved doors, hand-painted frescoes, molded ceilings, distinctive cast ironwork and lead-framed bottle glass windows.
Explore the landscaped grounds and become immersed in Malibu’s colorful history from the time of the Chumash Indians at the museum.
The Malibu Lagoon Museum is located in the Adamsons’ five-car garage and contains a collection of artifacts and rare photographs depicting the history of Malibu.
The house is a national historic site, California historical landmark and a California state park.
The cost of the excursion is $68 per person and includes lunch at Bubba Gump Restaurant on the Santa Monica Pier and transportation.

TRAVELERS CLUB
A new club, Single Travelers, will meet the first Tuesday of the month in Clubhouse 3, Room 3. The first meeting is set for Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 6 p.m.

SHOLOM SISTERHOOD THEATER EXCURSION
Sholom Sisterhood invites shareholders for an afternoon at the theater featuring “My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish and I’m In Therapy” at the Huntington Beach Library Playhouse on Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $45.
Steve Solomon’s smash hit comedy is inspired by his hilarious and dysfunctional family and all the people in his life whose sole purpose is to drive him into therapy, and they succeeded.

AROUND TOWN
THE SEAL BEACH Summer Concerts at the pier is in full swing at Eisenhower Park. The concerts run every Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. through Aug. 29.
The Seal Beach Summer Concerts include all the right stuff—beaches, breezes, bands, dancing, park location, lots of free parking, restaurants across the street, food trucks and vendors on location, and a community atmosphere.
The free summer concerts include a mix of doo-wop, rock, country, blues, swing, folk and other genres.
Performing this year are L.A. Vation, a tribute to U2, July 30; Jack Roberts Harvey Band, Aug. 6; Lukas Nelson, Aug. 13; Aloha Radio, Aug. 20; and the Elm Street Band, Aug. 27.
The Chamber, along with individual band sponsors have made these events free to the public.
Bring lawn chairs and jam to the music.
A 50/50 opportunity is available during the concert.

CASINO DAY TRIP
The New York Club will escort a day-trip to Pauma Casino on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
The cost of the trip is $15, with $10 cash returned in the machine.
During the trip, bingo is played coming and going and snacks are served.
The bus picks up at three locations, Clubhouse 4, 7:15 a.m.; Amphitheater, 7:30; and outside St. Andrew’s Gate, 7:35.
