Friday Golf The Friday Golf Group had to handle a shotgun start Aug. 1 from a group tournament at the Meadowlark course. The problem was not enough golf carts, which affected some members.
The group was a bit short of players, but those who turned out had a good time. Apologizes to the others.
Jim Dickerson won the first flight with a net 74. Rich Miller was second with a 75, followed by Bill McKusky, 76; and Merle McGee, 78. Jim Dickerson and Rich Miller had birds.
Sang Kim had the low net for the day, a 70, that gave him a win in the second flight. Lowell Goltra was second with a 73.
There were no birds in the second flight.
Closest to the pin winner was Merle McGee on No. 7.

Monday Golf

Members of the Monday golf Group battled through light rain and humidity to post some good scores July 28 at the Riverview course.
Bob Munn had the low round of the day, winning the second flight with an eight-under-par 62 and the only bird in the flight.
Lowell Goltra was second with a 66 and low putts, 30.
Rounding out the flight were Ed Dragan, 69; father and son Bob and Mike Looney, tied with matching 70s, and Marv Ballard.
Jim Dickerson won the first flight with a 66, followed by Merle McGee, Rich Miller and Paul Cose, tied for second with matching 68s.
Rounding out the flight were Rick Lenger, Bill McKusky and Larry Hillhouse.
Rick Lenger, Merle McGee and Jim Dickerson tied for low putts with 30.
Merle McGee, Rich Miller, Larry Cose and Larry Hillhouse had birds and Rick Lenger and Jim Dickerson collected a pair.
Closest to the pin honors went to Larry Hillhouse on the second hole and Merle McGee on No. 9.
Play resumes Aug.11 at David L. Baker course.

Cribbage Club

Pat Swope finished first with a score of 843 at the July 29 meeting of the Cribbage Club.
Pat was followed by Bob Edwards, 840; Sol Notrica, 839; and Sal Maciel and Liz Meripol, tied for fourth at 838. Fifty-three members attended.
Howard Bleakley and Jean Wilson had six games of 121 and won consolation prizes. With no wins, Marilyn Chelsvig received a special award.
Welcome back to Bob and Helyn Edwards.
Celebrating birthdays were Marilyn Chelsvig who brought cakes and Bobbie Straley who provided ice cream.
The club meets at noon on Tuesdays in Clubhouse 1. New members are welcome.
Seven games are played at tables of four and end about 3:30.

A warm, muggy Tuesday morning greeted 44 members of the Ladies Golf Club July 29. They tested the local course with a special fifth Tuesday game. Only two clubs and a putter were used.
